Arts Council England once again awarded Artsmark Gold to Preshute Primary School in recognition of the school’s commitment to, and excellence in, arts education. Artsmark is a national scheme developed by Arts Council England in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department of Education and Skills, the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Authority, OfSTED.
Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a simple framework to help make sustainability an integral part of school life.
Eco-Schools mission is to help make every school in the country sustainable and to bring about behaviour change in young people and those connected to them so that good habits learned in schools are followed through into homes and communities.
Preshute was given the Intermediate International Schools Award (ISA) in Spring 2010 and is currently seeking re validation of this award. This is an accreditation scheme run by The DCSF for curriculum-based international work in schools. The scheme provides recognition for teachers and their schools working to instill a global dimension into the learning experience of all children and young people.
Preshute has been awarded a gold ‘Light The Candle’ Award for the proactive approach we take to involve children in collective worship and assemblies.
The Healthy Schools Programme (NHSP) is a joint initiative between DCSF and Department of Health (DH) that promotes a whole school / whole child approach to health. Healthy Schools is intended to deliver real benefits in respect of:
Improvement in health and reduced health inequalities;
Raised pupil achievement;
More social inclusion; and,
Closer working between health promotion providers and education establishments
