Year 1

Welcome to Year 1 - we are very excited to be feeling more grown up after completing our first year at school.

We are very friendly in Year 1 and everyone is welcome through our doors first thing in the morning, many of our younger siblings struggle to leave!!

We still love to learn through play and investigation in Year 1 and also love using our outdoor learning area.

We like many things: maths, school trips, playing with our friends, learning new things, becoming responsible for our learning, words and spellings, breakfast club, lunches and lunchtime.

If you come to visit us in the morning you might catch us doing Boogie Babies with our teacher (Miss Irvine), our fabulous TAs (Mrs Wing and Mrs Connor) and our student (Miss Hawkins) - but you have to join in with our moves!!

Ahoy me hearties!!

Year One are all at sea this term for our Light House Keeper’s Picnic Topic!

We can’t wait to explore out seaside theme through all areas of the curriculum (see our class letter for more detail). We are particularly looking forward to our visit to the Aquarium at Bristol… though we might sink a few ships and create a few sea side delights before we get there!

Haul up the anchor and sail away!

Please read our newsletter to find out about what we are learning!
