Preshute Primary School Association (PPSA)

Funds raised by the PPSA directly support your child's educational experience - please join us and share your skills and interests to help our fundraising activities. We would be delighted to hear from you!

The PPSA is a charity run entirely by volunteers, organising events and projects. We raise much needed money to improve facilities at the school and to help create a happy, friendly, fun and supportive environment.

We run events like the Summer and Christmas Fayres, the Popcorn Cinema Club, discos, pre-loved clothes, books and DVD sales, dress down days, family activity days, and we help create and sell special gifts!

Everyone who has a child at Preshute Primary School is automatically a member of the PPSA and we value everything that is done to help the school. If you are a new parent to the school, please get in touch with us on the email below so we can help you with any information you require.

The Committee

We have a hard-working and determined committee, supported by parents in all years of the school. The 2017-18 chair has been Pauline Berry, supported by Saleha Pinhorn, Mel Bailey, Clare Dimond, Rachael Foy, Lindsay Barkholt, Katrina Venus, Rachel Crossey, Louise Campbell, Rachel Eke and Lucy Brenk.

See the following quote from Pauline about fundraising over the past school year:

“Wanted to say a huge thank you for supporting the PPSA to fundraise for the school. We have raised over £6,500 and have spent £4,500. The money raised has gone to: the library, Christmas lunch, Year 6 leavers, outside play equipment and refurbishing the "Quiet Area" ... and we have a pot of money for the new play structure.

The school would also like to thank Pauline and her team very much for their work and enthusiasm over the past year. We hope that as many parents as possible will be able to support the PPSA this coming year and you are all invited to the PPSA AGM on Tuesday 11 September at 7pm.

Match funding or sponsorship

Many companies now run schemes in which they will match the funds raised or time spent on charitable activities by employees. A number of Preshute parents have taken advantage of such schemes and this has made an enormous difference to the amount of money raised by the PPSA. We would be delighted if anyone who works for a company enquires with their Managing Director, HR or Corporate Citizenship department as to whether match funding is a possibility and what the requirements are. The PPSA committee will work with you to help you secure this funding for the school. It makes a big difference with very little extra work.

New Volunteers and Committee Members

We are now actively looking for enthusiastic volunteers to add to our merry band. Whether you are a brilliant cake maker, excellent tea pourer, creative arty type, good grafter or organiser extraordinaire, we would love to hear from you. Giving an hour of your time here or there on an ad hoc basis really does make a difference. If you are interested in being a part of this great team or would like to know more please email preshuteppsa@hotmail.co.uk or speak to one of the committee.

And it is not just parents that can volunteer; we are also happy to hear from grandparents and other family members who have a link with your child's school life.
