Preshute Primary School

School Council

Preshute recognises the importance of the pupil voice and making our pupils part of the decision-making process. Pupils from Years 1-6 are elected by their fellow classmates to sit on the School Council for one year, and members of the Council from Year 6 are elected to hold key posts. They meet on a regular basis and then report back to their classes through class council meetings, giving all children some involvement in the decision-making process.

Some of the decisions School Council have been involved in over the last academic year include:

  • Interviewing for our new head teacher and class teachers.
  • Deciding on new playtime equipment for everyone to play with at playtimes
